The Vultee Vengeance was an American dive bomber of the Second World War, designed by Vultee Aircraft. A unique feature of its design was the “zero-incidence” wing, which required the aircraft to fly with its nose pointed significantly upward in level flight to maintain altitude. While not used in combat by the U.S. military, the Mk.II variant was extensively operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). It proved to be a highly stable and accurate bombing platform during the Burma campaign and operations in the South West Pacific.
