The de Havilland Canada L-20A (later redesignated as the U-6A in 1962) was the military version of the legendary DHC-2 Beaver. Adopted by the United States Army and United States Air Force, it became an indispensable utility aircraft during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Its exceptional STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) capabilities allowed it to operate from unimproved forward airstrips, performing casualty evacuation, search and rescue, and reconnaissance missions. Over 900 Beavers were delivered to the U.S. military, proving their reliability in the most demanding combat environments.
